
Appeal on Khojaly genocide will be sent to nations of the world, international organizations, and embassies of different countries at a special plenary session of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, which will be held February 24, MP Musa Guliyev said at the event, held on Wednesday.
Youth Association of ruling Yeni Azerbaijan (NAP) party and SES newspaper held a joint event on the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide on Wednesday.
The event was attended by members of the Youth Association of NAP, MPs, and members of the public. Film about the Khojaly genocide, made by SES newspaper, was demonstrated at the beginning of the event.
Editor in Chief of SES Bahruz Guliyev opened the event with introductory remarks. He brought to the attention of the participants that the Khojaly genocide is the tragedy of mankind.
Khojaly genocide it is terrorism committed against the Azerbaijani people, and the rate of Armenian vandalism, MP Musa Guliyev said.
Other event participants condemned the atrocities committed by Armenia against the peaceful and unarmed population of Khojaly, and stressed that it is important to inform the world of the whole truth about this tragedy.
The Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on Feb. 26, 1992. Some 613 people were killed, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 old men. A total of 1000 civilians were disabled during the genocide. Eight families were annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, and 25 lost both. Additionally, 1275 innocent residents were taken hostage, while the fate of 150 remains unknown.
