Azerbaijan-Turkey ties appraised

Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Turkey Faig Baghirov has met today with chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Cemil Cicek. Baghirov thanked Turkey for the support in adoption of the decision on the Khojaly genocide during the meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation held in Indonesia.

The diplomat provided information about the events to be held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. Baghirov has also thanked the Turkish Grand National Assembly for the support in organization of the painting exhibition on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

Cicek said a law on the Khojaly genocide would be discussed at the Grand National Assembly. Cicek said he would support events to be organized on the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, stressing the importance for raising the world community`s awareness about the Khojaly genocide.

The chairman underlined Turkish officials always discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and Northern Cyprus during meetings at an international level.
