Egypt`s newspaper publishes article on Azerbaijan

The Egypt`s Al-Cumhuriyye newspaper published an article about the January 20 tragedy. The author of the article is Azerbaijan ambassador to Egypt Shahin Abdullayev.

The article covers the reasons of the tragedy as well as “Human Rights Watch” Organization`s report entitled “Black January in Azerbaijan.” The ambassador writes that January 20 tragedy became a turning point in Azerbaijani history and the basis for restoration of the country`s independence.

The article also says about political and economic difficulties of the nation, occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani lands by Armenian aggressors, rapid development of the country under the leadership of the Head of State and prestige on the regional and international arena.

“Every year, in January 20, the people of Azerbaijan visit the Alley of Martyrs to revere the memory of victims, who gave their lives for independence, freedom and development of the country,” the article reads.
