Azerbaijani President`s and First Lady`s support to Turkey in spotlight of Turkish media

A number of Turkish newspapers covered support of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP Mehriban Aliyeva to Turkey in connection with the French parliament`s bill criminalizing the denial of so-called Armenian genocide in the meetings with the deputy chairperson of the France-Caucasus friendship group, head of the France-Azerbaijan working group, senator Mrs. Nathalie Goulet and her accompanying delegation.

The Zaman newspaper features an article on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s thoughts about the relevant bill. The article says President Ilham Aliyev stressed that the French bid goes against democracy and freedom of speech. The Head of State expressed hope that the bill would not come into force.

Hurriyet, Vatan and Milliyet newspapers also highlighted Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s support to Turkey in the meeting with the French senators.

“Yeni Shafak”, “Aksham” and other newspapers narrated on the facts that Azerbaijan`s First Lady, Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s President Mehriban Aliyeva stated the relevant bill is against democracy and thanked the senators who protested the bill.

Anatolian Agency reports in the meeting with the deputy chairperson of the France-Caucasus friendship group, head of the France-Azerbaijan working group, senator Mrs. Nathalie Goulet Azerbaijan`s First Lady, Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s President Mehriban Aliyeva stressed that the bill had raised discontent in the Azerbaijani society. Aliyeva thanked the senators for their fair position in this issue and expressed assurance that Constitutional Council of France would not let the bill to come into force.

The other Turkish news agencies and TV channels also featured Azerbaijan`s support to Turkey.
