
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received co-chair of the
Turkey-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group at the Turkish
Grand National Assembly, Necdet Unuvar.
The Turkish MP recalled his meeting with national leader Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan in 2003. Unuvar said he would spare no efforts to contribute to expanding the interparliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
President Ilham Aliyev and Necdet Unuvar praised the two countries` relations, describing them as friendly and brotherly. They explored ways of expanding the bilateral ties.
*****16:46President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin. Eric Rubin expressed pleasure with his visit to Azerbaijan.
The U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary said he arrived in the country on the instructions of the U.S. President and Secretary of State. He congratulated the Head of State on election of Azerbaijan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and victory of the country in the Eurovision song contest. Eric Rubin expressed hope bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and U.S. would continue to expand even more on the existing basis in 2012.
President Ilham Aliyev said the last year was important for Azerbaijan, adding the country celebrated the 20th anniversary of its independence. The Azerbaijani leader expressed hope the two countries would gain ground in expanding relations in the bilateral format in 2012.
The Head of State thanked the U.S. President and Secretary of State for their attention to development of relations between the two countries. During the meeting, they discussed development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and U.S. in various fields in 2012.
*****15:17President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received the Moldovan Prime Minister Vladimir Filat. The Head of State remembered with great satisfaction meetings with Vladimir Filat held in Warsaw.
President Aliyev said history of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova is `positive`. President of Azerbaijan stressed the importance of developing relations between the two states. The Head of State said the political relations were successfully developing adding there was good potential for boosting cooperation in the economic sector. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his hope the visit of Prime Minister Vladimir Filat to Azerbaijan would further the bilateral relations.
Vladimir Filat said relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova have been always based on the principles of friendship. Mr. Filat expressed his confidence the relations between the two countries would be further developed. The Prime minister hoped his visit would create good opportunity for discussion of the issues linked with further development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova.
