'Azerbaijan interested in boosting ties with Iraq'

Azerbaijan and Iraq are examples of tolerance to the world and today the sides actively fight against terrorism, said Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament`s committee for international relations and inter-parliamentary ties Samad Seyidov in the meeting with the visiting delegation of Iraq`s parliament.

Seyidov pointed out the Iraqi parliamentarians` visit is particularly important. He briefed the delegation on committee`s activity, and underlined that Azerbaijan is interested in boosting interparliamentary ties with Iraq. Seyidov hailed activity of delegation within international organizations.

For his part, chief of the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations Humam Hamoody spoke of importance of cooperation in economic, cultural, humanitarian spheres, development of civil society as well.

Hamoody highlighted he has witnessed great development in Azerbaijan and praised joint activity of the two countries` parliamentarians in the international organizations.
The sides expressed assurance that Azerbaijan-Iraq cooperation would further serve the welfare of both peoples.
