'Azerbaijani state's power increases daily'

2011 can be regarded as an important stage in strengthening a foundation created in recent years for rapid development in 2012 and in subsequent years, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Ali Ahmedov told the press on Thursday.

"In 2011, Azerbaijan made great and important achievements in various spheres. The achievements show that Azerbaijan is rapidly developing," he said. Ahmedov said not only the economy, but also Azerbaijan's society is developing, and the state's power increases day-by-day.

"All these are our country's achievements. From this point of view, 2012 can be regarded optimistic. I want to believe that in 2012 Azerbaijan will continue its achievements, the state will be more powerful and Azerbaijani citizens will live better," Ahmedov said.

More serious, decisive and important steps will be taken next year in resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he said.
