Overwhelming majority of Azerbaijani population supports President Ilham Aliyev

The overwhelming majority of the population of Azerbaijan supports President Ilham Aliyev. It was confirmed by the results of the poll conducted from December 16 till December 19 by the “Rey” Monitoring Center.

About 1,500 citizens at the age of 18 years and more have taken part in the poll. Results of poll have shown that if on the nearest Sunday the presidential elections would take place, the overwhelming majority (about 90 percent) of voters would vote for the present head of the state.

Including 84.1 percent of the poll participants in Baku, the population of which differs with their critical relation, have expressed readiness to vote for Ilham Aliyev.

Some 85.5 percent of respondents have noted that President Ilham Aliyev completely is equitable to their interests. According to the results of poll, 92.4 percent of respondents trust in Ilham Aliyev, 72.2 percent don't see to him alternative on the post of president of the country. On the city of Baku, these indicators make up 87.5 and 69.5 percent accordingly. The majority of the interrogated (78 percent) have noted that if next Sunday the presidential elections would take place they would take part in voting.
