U.S. keen to strengthen democratic institutions in Azerbaijan

The US ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza met with chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov. Mr. Bryza said the US is keen to strengthen democratic institutions in Azerbaijan. Mr. Panahov praised cooperation between the US embassy and the CEC. The chairman briefed the ambassador on works done to improve the electoral system in the country and re-election to some municipalities held on Nov.30.
