Emin Sabitoglu commemorated in Baku

The Heydar Aliyev Palace hosted a concert to honor memory of the well-known Azerbaijani composer, Emin Sabitoglu, on June 3.

The evening was co-organized by M?d?niyy?t’ TV channel, ‘Azerbaijan’ radio channel and  Heydar Aliyev Palace, Trend Life reported.

The concert honoring the great musician brought together prominent representatives of Azerbaijani music such as Yalcin Rzazade, Flora Karimova, Azer Zeynalov, Brilliant Dadashova, Nazperi Dostalieva, Anvar Sadikhov as well as Honored Artists of Azerbaijan Anar Shushali, Zakir Aliyev, Teymur Amrah, Lala Mammadova and others.

General Director of TV channel "M?d?niyy?t", honored artist of Azerbaijan Ramil Gasimov stressed that Emin Sabitoglu is one of the most beloved composers and author of many works in various musical genres - symphonies, symphonic poems, cantatas, a string quartet and poems for violin and piano.

The composer wrote over 600 works, including many songs for theatrical productions, musical comedies, films and famous singers.

Singer Flora Kerimova, for her part, said that his songs forever settled in the hearts of the people thanks to love and kindness they bring to peoples.

The outstanding Azerbaijani composer, author of numerous well-known Azerbaijani songs Emin Sabitoglu was born in 1937 in the family of Azerbaijani writer Sabit Rahman. After graduation from musical school in Baku he entered Gara Garayev's class at Baku Conservatoire. Later he was transferred to Moscow State Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky .

In 1961, Sabitoglu began to work as music editor in film studio “Azerbaijanfilm”. Also, he worked as art director of the State Philarmony, and gave lessons at the State Conservatory named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov.

The most popular songs of composer include " Gilavar", " Agh chicheyim", "Senin uchun", the operetta " Hijran", the libretto of which was written by his father Sabit Rahman etc.

Besides that, Sabitoglu wrote songs for many films, including "Tahmina", "The Last night of the year ", "Dede Korkut"," The first love of Baladadash” and so on.

He died in 2000, at the age of 63.
