Azerbaijan-born, globe-trotting composer and pianist Amina Figarova has given a concert in Marians Jazzroom of Switzerland.

Co-organized by Azerbaijan`s Embassy to Switzerland and international Bern Jazz Festival the marvelous show generated tremendous interest among the audience. Her tasteful repertoire mesmerized the guests of all ages.

The participants were distributed book and brochures highlighting Azerbaijan`s cultural and tourism potential, as well as musical CDs, Azertac reported.

The Azerbaijani jazz pianist presented colorful, compelling new compositions. Throughout all tracks, Amina's classically founded touch, her lilting melodies, luminous harmonies, often understated yet always propulsive rhythms and star soloists come together with immaculate sophistication.

Amina began studying music as a child. Young talent attended the Baku Conservatory, where she studied to be a classical concert pianist while a young girl in Azerbaijan. This was followed by a course of study in jazz performance at the Rotterdam Conservatory before entering and completing her studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

She has toured extensively and has attained a distinctive and inimitable voice by concentrating on all-original repertoire for almost 18 years.
