Baku to host Int’l Theater Conference

The Fourth International Theatre Conference will be held on November 7-8 in Baku, Trend Life reported.

Organized by Azerbaijan's Culture and Tourism Ministry, the conference is being realized in the framework of the state program "Azerbaijani theatre in 2009-2019 years".

Azerbaijan State Musical Theatre hosted a meeting with the heads of the relevant sectors and departments, employees of the Ministry and theatres directors in connection with the organization of the event.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Adalat Valiyev, addressing the event, stressed the importance of holding such an international conferences.

The Deputy Minister gave a number of relevant instructions in connection with the upcoming the “Uch mekan” International Theater Festival and the Baku jazz festival. 

The main objective of the event is to provide a platform for leading theorists and scholars, directors and producers from all over the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by the modern theatre.

For the past years, Azerbaijani theaters have become members of the international theater organizations and associations. The national theaters are participating in international festivals and spectacles staged abroad.

The first International Theatre Conference, held on November 7-8, 2010, was carried out under the theme "The World theatrical process in the 21th century: problems, prospects and alternatives", while the second was held in 2012.
