Azerbaijan to join Belaya Vezha 2016

The 19th international theatre festival Belaya Vezha 2016 will take place in Brest, Belarus on September 9-14, Day. az reported.

Best classics in traditional and modern  interpretations will be presented by 27 theatre teams from 17 countries, including Azerbaijan.

The play "You need the old clown" will be presented by Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators.

The performances in eight languages will kick off at five different venues of the city.

Residents and guests of the city will see plays in various genres, including drama, musical, rock opera, phantasmagoria, game in the Gothic thriller, street dances and solo performances.

The Annual International Theatre Festival Belaya Vezha in Brest first held in 1996.

The festival aims to present the art of national theatres that develop classical theatrical traditions and look for modern means of theatrical expression. For big-name directors and actors, musicians and artists, and also young talents the Brest festival is an excellent opportunity to present their best works.

For many years the festival, organized by the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, the Culture Ministry, and the Brest Academic Drama Theatre, has gained recognition in the international festival community.

Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators was established on March 15, 1927, in Baku, on the basis of Children's Theatre and artistic amateur drama circles of students. The "Storm" play written on initiative of 14-year-old Aghadadash Gurbanov laid the foundation of the Children Theater.
