Fashion Nights came to end in Baku

The country’s capital Baku bid farewell to another fashion event – Baku Fashion Nights 2015 – held in the city between October 16 and 18.

As part of the event, some local and foreign designers including Turkish designer Ashley Jackson, the "VERM?CHLELLE" brand by Ukrainian designer Veronika Vero, Azerbaijani designers Ulker Huseynova, Fakhriya Khalafova, Gunay Guliyeva, Gulebetin Askerova, as well as Spanish designer Jordi Dalmau put their incredible fashion collections on display.

The show came to close with Jordi Dalmau’s most unusual wedding dresses.

At a press conference dedicated to the show, Lubov Gutorova, the Head of “FMS Models” school shared her impressions of the show.

“We saw a wedding dress in a completely unusual style, using new interpretations on the show. I confess, I am delighted with the collection. It was amazing,” she said.

Gutorova stressed that with every fashion week, the show is planning to expand the geographic origin of its participants.

Dalmau, for his part, noted he was glad to present his collection in Baku.

”I want to tell all the organizers of the Baku Fashion Nights 2015, thank you for the invitation to participate in the fashion show. I did not present my entire 2016 collection of wedding dresses in Baku, but only part of it. My dresses are different from the usual presentation of wedding dresses – they are extraordinary,” he said.

This year the famous designer’s collection has been also featured in Barcelona and New York.

“Of course, the dresses in my collection are not the ones every bride will wear. My client is a woman that differs from others, who feels that it is her wedding dress, and she wants to be in it. She is an unusual bride, like a witch who charmed her chosen,” Dalmau explained.

The designer said that his main muses in creating clothes were his daughter and spouse. Dalmau also added that he also pays attention to women on street and tries to capture their characters, moods and charisma.

Baku Fashion Nights will be shown on the world-renowned ID Fashion channel. Producer of the channel Vasil Klimchuk said that designers participating at the Baku Fashion Nights 2015 are people, without which it is impossible to imagine a real European-level of fashion.

Fakhriya Khalafova also addressed the conference, noting that the three-day show was held in very positive atmosphere, and all participants were satisfied with the event.

“The frequency of events in the fashion industry is very important. First of all, it encourages designers because participation at an event of this level takes very seriously preparation. Sometimes it inspires you so much that in the end you create a masterpiece - an incredible dress,” she said.

Turkish designer Ashley Jackson, in turn, stressed the great honor to her to represent her collection at the Fashion Week in Baku. ”I want to say thanks for the excellent organization of the event to all the organizers and especially, Lubov Gutorova. I am always interested in the opinion of spectators and I hope that everybody liked my collection,” she said.

The first Baku Fashion Week was held in 2014. The fashion show is held in the country twice a year for the Fall-Winter and Spring-Summer fashion seasons.
