Kamran Omarly – first Azerbaijani studying at Queen Sofia College of Music in Madrid

Winner of national and international competitions, the Presidential scholarship, violinist Kamran Omarly is one of the young talents, representing Azerbaijan abroad. Kamran was born in Khachmaz in 1994. He has graduated from the music school named after Rostropovich in Baku. In 2011, he successfully passed the qualifying round and was awarded a diploma of the Venyavski XIV International Violin Competition in Poland. A member of the jury, Professor Zakhar Bron, invited the young violinist to study at the department of violin in the Madrid Royal Academy of Music.

Kamran Omarly is the only Azerbaijani studying at the Queen Sofia College of Music. Spanish Save the Culture Fund pays for his education in accordance with the examination board's decision. The young violinist has achieved many successes at the world music venues. He regularly participates in prestigious music festivals held in Azerbaijan.

The Queen Sofia College of Music is a private music college founded in Madrid, Spain, in 1991 by Paloma O'Shea. It is part of the Albeniz Foundation. The school was founded by Paloma O'Shea in 1991 in Madrid, in order to provide young Spanish musicians with a solid artistic education without the need to study abroad in other European countries. The purpose is to train first-rate musicians, and all the necessary resources are made available to students and teachers with this end in mind. The school offers individually tailored instruction to ensure that each student gets the training that he or she needs.
