Day of the Azerbaijani cinema due in Vienna

Day of the Azerbaijani cinema will take place within the International Film Festival LET'S CEE on October 9.

Such films as "Nabat" (Alarm) and "Ax?nla a?a??" (Downstream) will be presented in the main competition program of the festival.

Along with film screenings the participants of the festival will meet well-known European film producers, journalists and critics, participating in the festival with the representatives of the Azerbaijani delegation.

Nabat, the full-length feature film by talented director Elchin Musaoglu, was awarded with many prizes in many influential festivals. It was screened at 71st Venice International Film Festival in Italy. The film was also presented in the 27th International Film Festival in Tokyo, Japan. Earlier this month, the film was screened at the 50th Chicago International film festival. The film`s world distributor is Dreamlab Films.

"Downstream" was filmed at the studio "Azerbaijanfilm" named after Jafar Jabbarli and commissioned by the Culture and Tourism Ministry of Azerbaijan.

Script writers are Asif Rustamov and Otar Pertahiya, director of photography is Ayhan Salar, the art director - Rafiz Ismayilov, the composer - Khayyam Mirzazade, the executive producer - Nadir Aliyev and the producer - Mushfig Hatamov.

The film stars are Namig Aghayev, Mehriban Zeki, Alexander Andrezhevskaya, Teymur Mamedov and other actors.

Azerbaijani films gained a great success during last several years and win numerous prices in international competitions.
