Azerbaijani mugham amazes guests of Baku

The Baku International Mugam Center hosted the evening of Azerbaijani folk music and mugham within the cultural program of the first European Games in Baku.

An interesting and vibrant program was remembered by public and guests of the European Games with concert of young mugham performers - the winners of the "Mugham" TV show in different years, who gave the audience an unforgettable evening of folk music.

Musicians of the instrumental ensemble "Buta" with the presence of Rovshan Gurbanov, tar player (artistic director), Jeyhun Muradov (kamancha), Nadir Talybova (balaban), Soltan Aliyev (nagara), Miralam Miralamov, Konul Tagiyeva and Gulli Muradova presented such compositions as “Dilkesh tesnifi”, ”Segah tesnifi“, “Ay Giz”, ”Ogrum yollara baxmagdan”, “Mahur tesnifi”, “Karabakh " and others.

The performances were greeted with the loud applause of the audience.

The next concert will take place on June 22. Instrumental ensemble "Naz-Nazi", whose artistic director is an honored artist Malik Mansurov and soloists are Ehtiram Huseynov and Kamila Nabiyeva will perform on the stage of the Center.

Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
