Young talent Elvin Ganiyev makes a performance

Youth virtuoso Elvin Ganiyev, accompanied by the Niyazi Symphonic Orchestra, mesmerized a captivated audience at the Heydar Aliyev Center on June 11.

The program under the guidance of honored artist Fakhraddin Karimov lasted about an hour. Elvin Ganiyev presented the audience with a violin performance of a piece from Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The musician was born on 25 November 1997 in Ankara to a family of musicians. Elvin is the grandson of the renowned Azerbaijani People's Artist Sarvar Ganiev. The young talent began playing piano at the age of 5 and continued to graduate from Bilkent University’s School of Music.

In 2006 Ganiyev won at the “Classica Heritage” international competition in Moscow. The following year, he received first place in a violin competition in honor of Turkish composer Turali Gulden and was later awarded a special prize for the best performance of a work by Gulden.

Elvin Ganiyev was included in the “Golden Book” as a young Azerbaijani talent. He was awarded the Presidential Scholarship in accordance with the decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Ganiyev is also a laureate of the XI International Competition for Young Violinists named after Tchaikovsky and Henryk Wieniawski in Poland in 2009, II international contest-festival "Madrid Night" in Spain, VII International Competition for young musicians named after Tchaikovsky, International Violin Competition named after D. Oystraha in Moscow in 2013. In 2010, the Pope awarded Elnur the Order.

The young violinist has participated in a number of prestigious international festivals in Azerbaijan, Russia, France, Germany, Greece, Poland, Switzerland, and Belarus among others. Ganiyev has performed a solo concerts in Azerbaijan, Austria, France, Switzerland, Russia, Spain, Georgia, Albania, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Norway, Belarus, Germany, Italy and Egypt.

Elvin Ganiyev shared his impressions about the concert and noted that he feels very positive about his performance at the Heydar Aliyev Center.
