Young cooks show skills in Baku

Baku’s Professional School No.12 hosted the festival dedicated to Republic Day - May 28 and first ever European Games.

The event which gathered the country’s young cooks was jointly organized by the Center of Azerbaijan National Cuisine, National Cuisine Association, Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Education Ministry.

During the festival, guests enjoyed the “Taste of aftertaste” film by film director Shamil Najafzada and Tahir Amiraslanov, the president of the National Association of Culinary.

The organizers gave a brief presentation about the richness of Azerbaijan’s national cuisine. The most interesting part of the event was a master class held by chefs.

The festival was also attended by children from the orphanages of "Umid" and "Gizildash”.

During the event, the winners of the competitions were awarded diplomas and gifts.

In a few weeks Azerbaijan is set to host the biggest sporting event in its history - Baku 2015 European Games. It will attract more than 6,000 athletes to represent 49 countries on June 12-28. During the 17-day event, there will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
