The opening ceremony of “Eurovision Song Contest 2015” was held in Vienna, Austria on May 17.

The delegations of each participating country, which are 40 this year, walked on the red carpet at the Vienna City Hall.

Azerbaijani representative, Elnur Huseynov also attended the ceremony, where he was kindly met by his fans.

Answering the question of “Anadolu” agency Elnur said the atmosphere in Vienna is amazing adding he believed he would end first in the contest.

The Jubilee 60th Eurovision’s final will be held on May 23. The semifinals of the international contest will be held on May 19 and 21.

Elnur will represent the country with his mystical ballad “Hour of the Wolf”, which he will perform under the 11th number in the second semifinal.

Earlier, on May 15 Elnur and his team held an official rehearsal at the Eurovision’s main stage. After the first rehearsal, all efforts were directed to the improvement of his stage performance, including the dance program and Elnur’s opportunity to feel the scene. Some changes have been also made to bring the song «Hour of the Wolf» and performance even closer to the viewers.

Meanwhile, one of the dancers, Lukas even colored his hair for maximum immersion into the wolf image on stage.

Commenting on their performance, the talented singer said, “This dance is staged in the style of modern art. It is inspired by wildlife, but in fact it is a story about us - people. We show what it means to be rejected, to be different, to be an outcast without hope of change,” Elnur said. “After all, everyone experienced such thing in life, don't you think?”

He also talked about the main message of the song, “Never give up, as your soul is worthy of happiness! We must stand up and fight for tolerance and unity in the world,” he said.

This year for the first time, Australia will participate in the contest. The Czech Republic after a five-year pause and Cyprus and Serbia after a year time-out will compete on the Eurovision stage again.

Due to financial and political issues Ukraine will not compete at the contest, while Turkey will not attend the event, as in 2013 and 2014.

In 2008, Elnur appeared on “the Eurovision Song Contest” in Belgrade, together with Samir Javadzada, who brought 8th place to Azerbaijan.
