Baku’s “Natavan” gallery, which often brings together art lovers, will feature another splendid exhibition of a very young and talented fresh artist, Aysel Abdullazada.

Being titled “Spring Revival”, the exhibition will be held on April 13. The visitors will have a chance to see the artist’s beautiful works until April 19.

Aysel will present her works in a very unusual art -- Quilling, which has gradually gained momentum in the country.

Earlier, giving an interview to AzerNews about her hobby, Aysel said that everything started with a naive exhibition, where she put her works on display.

This surprisingly changed her life, and quickly what began as a hobby turned into a real job.

“My works was published in social networks. And what a surprise it was for me, when a woman liked my works and offered to buy my work for a competition. Perhaps it was one of the happiest moments of my life,” she said.

The address of the event is Icherisheher (Old City), Asaf Zeynalli street, 6/8. The exhibition will start at 19:00.

Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create shapes which make up designs to decorate greetings cards, pictures, boxes, eggs, and to make models, jewelry, mobiles etc.

In the 15th century Quilling was considered as an art in Europe, while in the 19th it became a lady entertainment. For the most part of the 20th century people completely forgot the art form, that is until now!

Quilling is set to become very popular indeed.
