Young Azerbaijani artists to hold exhibition in Belgium

To be co-organized by the Social Psychological Rehabilitation Centre of the Youth – “Dirchelish”, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belgium and the Municipal College of Waterloo an exhibition by young painters titled “Young Painters of Azerbaijan in Belgium-With love from sunny Azerbaijan” will be held in Waterloo city from January 21 to February 20.

The exhibition, to be held for the 3rd time in Belgium, is a huge appreciation of European Community to the organizer of the event, “Dirchelish” Center.

The first exhibition was held in Brussels at “BrenArt” gallery on March 24-31 in 2011. The exhibition was dedicated to the victims of an earthquake in Japan. The second exhibition held on June 16-23 in 2013 was dedicated to the Day of National Salvation in Azerbaijan.

The exhibition which will be held in Waterloo was personally supported by Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan Meunier Pascal and President of “AZAL” Closed Joint-Stock Company Jahangir Asgarov.

A 40 member delegation from Azerbaijan will visit Belgium on January 20-27.

The aim of the exhibition is to promote European values among Azerbaijani Youth, to accelerate the integration of young men into Europe, as well as to put forward the importance of intercultural dialogue to discover the talent of young artists.

It is also aimed to create appropriate conditions for the expansion of their creative talents and to show to the World that Azerbaijan is not only an oil-gas country, but also a country with wonderful talented people.

Some 23 painters and a sculptor will take part at the exhibition. As o total 105 works will be put on display.

Two disabled artists will take part at the exhibition by the support of the “Az?rSun” Group of Companies: Tural Bayramov has congenitally speech and hearing disabilities and Konul Ismayilova with some physical restraints. Other artists are Narmin Rajabli, Aynur Haj?yeva, Farida Suleymanova, Maryam Gadimova, Leyla Gurbanl?, Jamila Aliyeva, Vafa Sultanova, Zaur Mirzayev, Garanfil Bakhishli, Ulviyya Mammadova and sculptor Imran Mehdiyev.

During the trip to Belgium, the young painters will visit sights of Belgium, the cities of Bruges and Antwerp. The participants will also enjoy visiting the Rubens museum. The painters will be awarded with several certificates.

The organizers hope that the exhibition will take the attention of art colleges and art lovers of Belgium, as well as Waterloo city community. These painters have already had a chance to participate at the exhibitions held in many European big cities such as Paris, Brussels, Rome, Vienna, Sofia, Milan, Budapest, Bern and London.

The exhibition is expected to contribute to the development of humanitarian and cultural cooperation and give information about Azerbaijan’s culture, history and heritage to representatives of foreign countries.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held at 19:00 in Waterloo city gallery on January 21. Another important aspect of the exhibition is that at the opening ceremony, a construction of a monument, dedicated to Khurshudbanu Natavan, an writer and poetess of Eastern world, will be unveiled.

To be constructed in one of the parks, located in Waterloo city, the monument will be officially set up by Serge Kubla, the Burgamaster of the city. The bronze monument will be constructed with a height of 2,4 meters.

The author of the monument is 23 years old sculptor Imran Mehdiyev. Erection of the monument, dedicating to Azerbaijani poetess will be a big contribution to the country.

Similar exhibitions by “Dirchelish” were held in Sofia (2010), Brussels (2011), Vienna (2012), Paris (2012), Rome (2012), London (2013), Milan (2013), Budapest (2014), Bern (2014).
