YARAT invites art lovers to Artist Studios opening

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites art lovers to the opening of YARAT Artist Studios from noon until midnight on November 1.

During the opening ceremony, visitors will have an opportunity to be acquainted with the artists who will be happy to share techniques and other details about making paintings, sculptures, shade installations, experimental music, video installations and other forms.

Guests of the venue will also become a part of the complex and fascinating process of the art creation.

The opening program also includes a short workshop with Da'Art children's studio and its director Dilara Atakishiyeva, as well as a music program by DJ Pancho and refreshing drinks.

The studios have already become a place where eleven Azerbaijani artists' works are displayed. The artists also have a chance to rest and exchange ideas there.

YARAT Studios are situated in a newly restored four-storey building where Aida Mahmudova, Orkhan Huseynov, Farid Rasulov, Faig Ahmed, Ramal Kazimov, Vusal Rahim, Farhad Farzaliyev, Nazrin Mammadova, Reza Hazare, Rashad Alakbarov and Niyaz Najafov are creating their latest works.

This place has all the necessary features for international artists to live and work comfortably. Moreover, YARAT plans to host the first guests at the venue starting from 2015.

Located at Academic Hasan Aliyev str.,1061, in Nasimi district, the YARAT Artist Studios invites all those who love and value creativity, freedom and happiness in life.

Founded in 2011 by Aida Mahmudova, YARAT is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing of contemporary art in Azerbaijan and creating a platform for Azerbaijani art, both nationally and internationally.

Based in Baku, YARAT, which means "create" in Azerbaijani, realizes its mission through an ongoing program of exhibitions, education events, and festivals. The organization facilitates dialogue and exchange between local and international artistic networks, including foundations, galleries, and museums.

YARAT also operates Yay Gallery, opened in 2012 as part of YARAT's on-going commitment to growing local art infrastructure in the Caucasus. Yay Gallery supports international dialogue on the arts and shares its proceeds among the artists and YARAT.
