Azerbaijan's Music Day held in Kyrgyzstan

Azerbaijan's Music Day, organized by Azerbaijani Embassy, was held in Kyrgyzstan on October 15.

Held in the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abdilas Maldibayev the event was attended by state representatives, officials, foreign ambassadors, heads of international organizations and cultural figures.

One of the pearls of Azerbaijani culture, "Arshin mal alan" operetta by great Uzeir Hajibeyli was performed during the event.

Some 101 years ago in 1903 Azerbaijan's great composer Uzeir Hajibeyli composed "Arshin mal alan operetta. At the same year, the operetta was staged in the Theatre named after Zeynalabdin Tagiyev.

Traveling around 76 countries, the composition has been staged in 187 theaters. And the film devoted to the composition, shot in 1945 has been screened in 136 countries. The operetta is very popular among young and old generations, as it was created for both of them.

The operetta accompanied by the theatre's choir and symphony orchestra was welcomed by great applause.

Addressing the event, Director of the theatre Timur Salamatov thanked Azerbaijani Embassy for the efforts shown in development of relations between two countries.

Then, Kyrgyz Deputy minister for Culture, Information and Tourism Akimbek Tekeshov thanked Azerbaijani Ambassador Hidayat Orujov for development of cultural relations between two sides and presented him a honored medal.

Hidayat Orujov, in turn, said this award was much unexpected for him and thanked for this gift.

Noting that bilateral relations between the two countries are developed not only in political and economic fields, but also in humanitarian, the ambassador stressed that this success is one of the priorities of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev.

"Many humanitarian events have been held both in Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. Holding of these events brings closer the two countries," the ambassador said.
