The opening ceremony of Karabakh Park was held in the Turkish city of Bolu within the framework of the Second International Koroglu Festival, which is underway in this city.

The park was named in honor of one of the most gracious places in Azerbaijan-Karabakh.

Azerbaijani delegation, as well as prominent public figures, representatives of culture and art, science and educational spheres took part in the opening of the Karabakh Park, the organizers of the visit told Trend Agency.

Azerbaijani MP, member of the Azerbaijan-Turkey inter-parliamentary group Ganira Pashayeva was chosen an honorary citizen of Bolu. She expressed appreciation to the city mayor Aladdin Yilmaz for such a high honor.

She further voiced her gratitude that, from now on, one of the most beautiful parks located in the center of Bolu will be called Karabakh Park.

Azerbaijan's Karabakh and seven adjacent regions were occupied by Armenia in early 1990s, after Yerevan made territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor.
