SEBA and Korea Foundation sign MoU

Seoul-Baku (SEBA) Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association and Korea Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation on October 2.


Korean Ambassador to Azerbaijan Choi Suk-inn attended the signing ceremony.
Addressing the event, SEBA's President Ruhangiz Heydarova talked about Azerbaijan-Korea relations, which are developing day by day.
Heydarova recalled the great achievements of national leader Heydar Aliyev in establishing these relations.


SEBA was established as a non-governmental organization in 2004. It is closely involved in the development of cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Korea.
The organization is engaged in strengthening relations between the two countries. So far it has organized Culture Day and Cinema Day, held exhibitions, concerts, scientific symposia, and carried out health care projects for poor refugees and internally displaced persons. It has also taken part in archaeological excavations by the Association and established the Eastern Medicine Clinic.


Heydarova noted SEBA's activity has been supported by the Korean Embassy in Baku and Azerbaijani Embassy in Seoul, adding that the memorandum would play an important role in development of relations between the two countries.



Korea Foundation President Yu Hyun-seok, for his turn, said the time has come to develop and strengthen bilateral cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Korea.
He expressed confidence that close cooperation between SEBA and Korea Foundation will work as a bridge connecting the people and cultures of the two countries.


Stressing that it is now the time to boost bilateral relations by increasing cultural exchanges, Yu Hyun-seok noted that the Association headed by Ruhangiz Heydarova has become a major partner of Korea Foundation in this sphere.
"The signing of this memorandum will further develop cooperation between the two countries and people," he said.


Established in 1991, the Korea Foundation is one of the most important socio-diplomatic organizations of the country. It is seeking to build friendly relations between world population through cultural, intellectual, scientific and other exchange programs.
