A book dedicated to the Azerbaijani national culture and cuisine will be published in Germany for the first time in German and English, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora told Trend
on Aug. 18.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the Committee and the Congress of European Azerbaijanis. One of the well known photographers of Germany, and author of more than 40 books, Barbara Lutterbeck made a variety of photos in Azerbaijan during a 10 day visit and collected necessary materials for the book.
When promoting the culture of a country, Lutterbeck believes people first of all pay attention to tradition, cuisine, and lifestyle. Throughout her 17-year career as a photographer she has familiarized herself with the cultures of countries from Morocco to Nepal.
Accompanied by the President of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis Samira Patzer-Ismailova
, Lutterbeck got acquainted with the rich culture of Baku, Guba, Lahij, Khinalig, Gabala, Sheki, Shamakhi and other places in Azerbaijan.
Lutterbek highly appreciated the tolerance, freedom, sincere attitude of the people and their hospitality. Most of all, she was struck by the unity of the ancient and the modern.
"I noticed such a synthesis not only in the beauty of the cities, but also in the people and nature. Watching people, I see that they are very modern, but at the same time committed to the traditions, to their families," said Lutterbek.
It's necessary to note that this book will have photos and brief information on Azerbaijani history, culture, traditions, cuisine, as well as methods for the preparation of some Azerbaijani dishes. The book will be published by the end of this year, and a presentation will be held in Germany and Azerbaijan.
