The 6th “Azerbaijani Family” movie festival has started at the State Culture and Art University in Baku.
The festival is a joint project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the State Committee for Family, Woman and Children Affairs and the United Nations Population Fund.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, pro-rector of the University Rafig Sadigov, deputy chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Aynur Sofiyeva emphasized the importance of the event.
Held since 2009, the festival features films by both local and foreign film makers.
The goal of the festival is to preserve and pass the traditions and national and spiritual, universal values to the young generation, bring up the young generation in the spirit of respect to elders, promote the culture of tolerance and peace in family relations.
“The State Committee for Family, Woman and Children Affairs permanently carries out such awareness raising projects. One of the projects successfully implemented in this direction using the abilities of cinematograph is the “Azerbaijani Family” film festival, held since 2009 in cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and United Nations Population Fund.”
“on the sidelines of the festival it is also planned to arrange a photo competition titled “From photo to life,” Sofiyeva said.
The material presented to the Committee and fitting to the aim and idea of the festival will be valued by the jury consisting of acclaimed scientists and culture figures.
The winners will receive diplomas, cups and gifts.
