The Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan is to certify cultural tourist routes in the country. According to the Ministry, last year it began work on certification of route "Alexandre Dumas in the Caucasus" in accordance with the criteria of the European Institute of Cultural Routes.
“Also, in 2012, it was developed the primary version of the plan of action of route "Alexandre Dumas in the Caucasus,” the report says.
Participation of 3 countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia is necessary to obtain an international certificate of cultural tourist route.
Status of “European Cultural Route” of the Council of Europe is assigned to undertakings combining the cultural and social values promoted by the Council of Europe.
Its purpose is to attract the attention of travelers to the heritage of different countries and cultures of Europe as joint heritage of mankind. The program is consistent with the CE basic principles: human rights, the preservation of cultural identity and diversity, promotion of cultural dialogue, exchange and cross-fertilization across borders and centuries.
