Mirza Fatali Akhundzade`s bicentenary marked in Georgia

An event dedicated to the bicentenary of Azerbaijani playwright and philosopher Mirza Fatali Akhundzade was held in the Cultural Center of Azerbaijanis here.

Chairman of the Center Khaladdin Yolchuyev updated participants on life and creative activity of Mirza Fatali Akhundzade.

The event saw speeches by journalist Mirza Mammadoglu, employee of the Georgian Representative of SOCAR Shovgi Mehdizade, deputy governor of the Kvemo Kartli region Huseyn Yusifov and others.

The speakers touched upon Mirza Fatali Akhundzade`s life in Tbilisi and Georgian thinkers` point of view on the playwright`s activity.

Books on Akhundzade, which published in Azerbaijani and Georgian languages with support of the Georgian Representative of SOCAR, were also presented in the event.
