Without regard to gas purchase from Azerbaijan, Ukraine will continue the works in direction of turning natural gas into liquid form, SOCAR Vice President Elshad Nasiropv told journalists.
To him, the joint company created by SOCAR and Ukrainian State Agency for Investment and Management of National Projects will carry out a feasibility study of transportation of liquefied gas to the Black Sea coast of Ukraine. The joint venture will be established within 1-2 months.
Nasirov noted that SOCAR would not engage in construction of the terminal, which would turn natural gas into liquid gas: “It must be taken into account that Ukraine wants the diversification of gas transport”.
“Oil transportation to Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland does not depend on political agreements. At present, we discuss last details in this direction. We will begin oil transportation to Czech Republic from next year”.
