AZAL: Azerbaijan does not use Russian and former USSR aircrafts

"Azerbaijan Airlines" has not been using Yak aircrafts over the last seven to eight years, the company told Trend.

The company said Yak aircrafts are not used to carry out flights in Azerbaijan.

Yak-42 plane crashed during takeoff in the Yaroslavl region on Wednesday, leaving 36 people killed, one injured.

Currently the fleet of "Azerbaijan Airlines" is updated with modern aircrafts. In particular, next year the company will receive Boeing -767 aircraft, and in 2014 will receive Boeing-787 Dreamliner aircraft, which will enable to realize long-distance flights. Currently, the company owns 21 aircrafts.
