WYBN regional office to be opened in Baku

World Youth Bank Network’s (WYBN) regional office for 14 countries, including Turkey, Iran and CIS countries, will be opened in Baku on Friday, press service of the Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sports said. WYBN is a member of United Nations Global Compact, target-focused on implementation of United Nations Millennium Goals related to youth employment, employability, equality and employment creation.

With its genuine concept of Civil Banking, WYBN and perspective World Youth Bank as a global public financial institution stand for all-inclusive development financing and introduction of brand new financial products and services adjusted to the new needs of the new millennium.

Process of establishing the World Youth Bank Network officially started at the WAY "European Youth Dialogue" Global Youth Summit 23-28. March, 2002. WYBN regional office in Azerbaijan will be the Network’s sixth regional office.

Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Azad Rahimov, head of the UN Office in Azerbaijan Fikret Akcura, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov, representatives of the international organizations, ambassadors, members of the parliament and representatives of civil society will attend the opening ceremony.
