The talks conducted between the two countries in direction of organization of direct export of natural gas produced in Azerbaijan are about to end, SOCAR official Kamal Abbasov said.
Abbasov noted that at present, gas export from Azerbaijan to Iran was implemented in the form of swap transactions. In turn, Iran transports the same amount gas to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
"Currently, Azerbaijan conducts talks with Iran on gas export. And these talks will be finished in the near future. Thereafter, this volume will be delivered to 5 bn cubic meters", he said.
