Azerbaijan is not considering creating a united customs checkpoint with Iran, State Customs Committee (SCC) Chairman Aydin Aliyev told journalists yesterday.
"There are many difficult issues in terms of holding inspections on the single-window principle. One of them is that in what country’s territory it will be held," Aliyev said.
He said according to the Azerbaijani legislation, only the SCC can deal with customs control in the country, whose members are only Azerbaijani citizens.
"Another issue is that if there are violations on the territory of Azerbaijan or Iran, how they will be considered, under which country’s jurisdiction it will happen. As the territorial principle is applied during the prosecution," Aliyev said.
