Azerbaijan’s GDP increases by 1.4%

Azerbaijan's GDP increased by 1.4% in January-February compared to the same period in 2010, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported. In current prices, the GDP indicator reached 6.7 billion manat. The GDP per capita amounted to 745.8 manat ($936.4).

The share of the non-oil sector, which increased by 3.8% during the year, hit 40.9% of the GDP in January-February, with 51.5% accounting for the oil and gas sector and processing. A total of 7.6% of the added value was created at the expense of net taxes from production and import.

The total production volume in all sectors of the economy decreased by 1.7% and hit 64.1% of the GDP, with 56.6% of the GDP (3.79 billion manat) accounting for industry.

Agriculture, hunting and forestry provided 188.6 million manat in January-February, or 2.8% of the GDP. Construction provided 314.4 million manat (4.7%), transportation and warehousing - 440.5 million manat (6.6%), communication and post services - 120.9 million manat (1.8%), and social and other services - 746.4 million manat (11.1%), and trade services and motor vehicle repairs - 503.4 million manat (7.5%).
