
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with 94 countries, including non-state organizations and physical entities of these countries, comprised $2.2 billion in January 2011, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.
"Roughly $1.6 billion or 72.6% of total turnover fall to export. About 27.4% or $593 million fall to import," the report said.
Trade turnover increased by 9,8%, import - by 60.5%, while export declined by 1.9% compared to January last year. The export exceeded import by 2.7 times. So, black ink was created to the amount of $ 979.8 million.
Most of foreign trade operations (84.2 percent) fell to such countries as Italy, US, France, Russia, Malaysia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey, Israel, Thailand, China and Germany.
