02 March 2011 [14:35] - TODAY.AZ
The global financial crisis has had a negative impact on various sectors of several countries’ economy, but Azerbaijan was able to maintain steady economic growth, Azerbaijani Deputy Economic Development Minister Niyazi Safarov said during his speech at the Azerbaijan Investors Summit 2011 on Wednesday.

"Azerbaijan is developing dynamically. It is known that investors are most interested in investing in politically and economically stable countries. Azerbaijan is such a country," Safarov said.

According to him, it is noteworthy that both local and foreign investors invest in Azerbaijan’s economy. A successful business environment has been formed in the country over just a short time.

"I believe that today's event is a sign of the presence of the prosperous investment climate in the country," Safarov said.

The summit on March 2-3 is being attended by about 130 Azerbaijani companies and 50 foreign investors.
