Poverty in Azerbaijan dropped 4-5 times over the last 7 years

Poverty in Azerbaijan was reduced 4-5 times in last seven years, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at a Cabinet`s meeting on the socio-economic results of 2010 and outstanding tasks in 2011.

The head of state noted in 2010 marcoeconomic stability was secured, inflation made up 5.7% and population income increased by 12.3 %.

The President said as of 2010, only 9.1% Azerbaijanis live in poverty. It shows, reforms and economic growth, first of all, were aimed at improving well-being of Azerbaijani citizens, the President added.
