Revenues in ICT and postal sector in Azerbaijan exceed one billion manat

Over the past ten months of the current year, total revenue from information and communications technologies and postal sector in Azerbaijan amounted to 1042.8 million manat.

According to the estimates of specialists from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, revenues increased by 35.1% compared with the corresponding period of last year when it made up 933.7 million manat.

As regards ICT sector, the country’s telecom sector grew by 31.1% to 982.9 million manat, of which the mobile sector accounted for 697.9 million manat.

Higher growth rates were recorded in the information technologies sector. Thus, services in Azerbaijan’s IT sector grew by 2.2 times and amounted to 41.9 million manat.

Country’s postal sector has shown growth of income by 23.8% to 18 million manat.

It should be noted that the ICT and postal sector is 1.9% of total GDP. Total share of ICT and postal sector in country’s non-oil GDP is 4.5%.
