SOCAR President meets former German Foreign Minister

President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev has met former German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher. The former minister praised the ongoing “rapid economic development process” in Azerbaijan.

He said Azerbaijan and Germany had great potential to boost energy cooperation. Genscher also underlined Azerbaijan`s role in energy security of Europe. Abdullayev, in turn, highlighted the “successful oil strategy initiated by Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev”.

The SOCAR President said the reliable oil and gas pipelines system established in Azerbaijan plays great role in transportation of energy recourses of all countries in the Caspian region.

According to Abdullayev, fruitful work is underway in “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli”, “Shah Deniz” and other prospective structures and fields.

“This will contribute to strengthening Azerbaijan`s positions as a permanent oil and gas exporter and transit country.”
