Azerbaijan proposes to extend transport corridor within CAREC

In the eighth ministerial conference within the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC), the Ministry proposed to extend the second international transport corridor within the CAREC so that it will pass through Georgia to Turkey and Europe.

The Transport Ministry was represented by head of financial and credit department Faig Alakbarov, the ministry said.

Participants of the conference decided to consider these issues at the next meeting.

Representatives from China, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as ADB, IMF attended the conference.
