Direct Baku-Damascus flights will be launched: Syrian minister

Baku-Damascus flights are planned to be launched by late October in an effort to develop tourism ties between Syria and Azerbaijan, Syrian Culture Minister Riad Nasan al-Agha told reporters in Baku.
The Minister Azerbaijan is more likely to operate the flights.

"Flights between the countries are currently operated through Istanbul or via other routes. We need active cooperation in tourism," said Nasan al-Agha, head of the Syrian delegation to the Sixth Conference of Culture Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference which will be held in Baku from Oct. 13 to 15.

The Baku-Aleppo flight, which was stopped some time ago, will be resumed, the Syrian minister added.
