Azerbaijan State Railway Office revenus hit 80.2 million manat in 2009

Azerbaijani Railway Office's (ARO) revenues totaled 4.2 million manat in January-July, ARO chief said in an interview with state media.
Asgarov said ARO revenues reached 80.2 million manat over seven months, 63.9 million manat of which accounted for freight transport and 16.3 million manat on passengers transport.

About 76 million manat was spent for services rendered  and work conducted at railway. About 30.9 million manat of total expenses was spent for salaries of employees. About 7.7 million manat was transferred to the social fund, 8 million manat - to the state budget in the form of different taxes and 15.6 million manat was spent to pay off debts for electricity, fuel and water.

Azerbaijani Railway Office transported over 11.7 million tons of different freights in January-July. About 2 million tons or 49.7 accounted for internal transportation.

Nearly 60.9 percent accounted for exports and 80.6 percent on imports. About 93.5 percent accounted for transit transport, Asgarov said.

More than 7 million tons of freights were transported within seven months. Over 5.4 million tons accounted for oil-loading freights of total freight transportation. A plan on oil-loading freights transportation was fulfilled at 77.5 percent.

Asgarov said that more than 3 million passengers were conveyed in January-July. This figure is 145,000 more than the same index of 2008.
