SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) completed construction of two
marine electricity transmission lines in length of 1.5 kilometers,
which allowed to supply electricity to two platforms on large offshore
oil and gas field Oil Rocks, SOCAR reported on May 29.
As a result of construction of new electricity lines, electricity was provided to platforms 2415 and 2387, located two kilometers away from each other. With these platforms, a total of 24 wells are planned to be drilled.

Constructing the lines was carried out by a specialized cable packing ship of the Caspian Maritime Oil Fleet (SOCAR).

New cables are fed from a gas turbine power station, located on Oil Rocks. The station provides electricity to oil and gas production units Oil Rocks and 28 May.
