Azerbaijan has several opportunities to export gas to Europe: FM

Azerbaijan has several opportunities to export own gas to the European markets, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told Trend Capital in Syria.
"There are several projects and some opportunities to deliver the Azerbaijani gas to the European markets and all these opportunities are open," Mammadyarov said.

The foreign minister cited examples, including the Nabucco gas pipeline, Turkey-Greece-Italy (ITGI) gas pipeline, Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline. Moreover, Mammadyarov said there is an opportunity to develop relations with Russia in this field.

"There are numerous other versions which should be carefully considered, basing on expediency, stability and predictability," the minister said.

The minister said both risks and profitability are taking into account while examining these or those projects.

Mammadyarov said Azerbaijan is also interested in the South Corridor project on which the Prague declaration was signed. The minister said this project is one of versions when the country can also use its geographical location, besides energy component.

"In this regard, development of the South Corridor, of course, meets our national interests, as we could form a prosperous and stable region," Mammadyarov said.

The minister said such kind of the projects favor not only development of economy, but also they are important from a political view.
