Azerbaijan estimated to have highest GDP in Caucasus, Central Asia: IMF

The IMF forecast a zero growth in real GDP in Armenia in 2010. The fund forecast that the growth of GDP in Georgia will be three percent, Kazakhstan - 1.5 percent, Kyrgyzstan - 2.9 percent, Tajikistan - three percent, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan - for 7 percent.

The IMF reported that in 2010 Azerbaijan will have one-digit level of inflation - seven percent in 2010, which will be one of the lowest in the region. In 2010, inflation is expected to be 6.5 percent in Georgia, 7.2 percent in Armenia, 8.7 percent in Kazakhstan, 8.6 percent in Kyrgyzstan, 11.5 percent in Tajikistan, 8 percent in Turkmenistan and 9.5 per cent in Uzbekistan.

According to the IMF, growth in the expanded money supply will be 21 percent in Azerbaijan in 2009, which is the biggest indicator in the Caucasus and Central Asia region. The IMF predicts the lowest indicator in Kyrgyzstan - 0.6 percent. In Armenia, an expanded money supply growth this year will be 2.3 percent, in Georgia - 9 percent, in Kazakhstan - 17.1 percent, in Tajikistan - 8.3 percent, in Turkmenistan - 11.9 percent in Uzbekistan - 20.4 percent.
