SOCAR conducts legal registration of several ecological facilities

SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) operates on legal registration of three new control-measuring check-points built in Bakakhani, Zikh and Bibi Heybat (settlements of Baku) to determine volumes of power surge by transport vehicles in atmosphere, SOCAR vice-president on ecology Muhtar Babayev said on May 5.

"Points have been constructed and put into operation. Presently, they are under registration. Several actions on reduction of power surge in atmosphere are planned to be held at these points," Babayev said.

Points were created within plan of complex operations to improve ecological state of Azerbaijan over 2006-2010, SOCAR ecology department said earlier.

Major goal is to conduct monitoring concerning power surge of SOCAR transport vehicles in atmosphere (roughly 5,000 items), as well as giving recommendations to bring in accordance with legislation and standards in this sphere, submission of conducted operations and actions to public.

Measurements by new points will be held by both stationary and mobile methods. Estimation will be held on temperature parameters on waste and carbonic gas, hydrocarbon, nitric oxide and other parameters.

Cars and other technique are planned to be checked once per year at these points.

Check-up of cars owned by the ministry of ecology and natural resources, as well as state road police is envisaged in future.
