The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) informed that Zohrab Veliyev engineering and geologic vessel owned by SOCAR's Caspian Marine Oil Fleet has left for the Russian sector of Caspian Sea to carry out exploration at "Rakushechnoye" field.
Rakushechnoye field was opened by Azerbaijani geologists in 1970 and has not been developed because of the absence of infrastructure.
Zohrab Veliyev will drill four engineering and geologic wells at sea depth of 80 meters with the purpose of studying the ground to project and build an oil producing platform. The work is conducted under the agreement signed by LUKOIL and SOCAR Complex Geologic Exploration and Topography Department.
