Finnish ambassador: "There are some problems in energy cooperation with Azerbaijan"

15 December 2008 [11:23] - TODAY.AZ
Finland is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy sphere, reports Day.Az with reference to AzerTac.
According to the Finnish ambassador to Azerbaijan Petri Salo, Finland has not its own hydrocarbon reserves and it purchases oil production on the international markets.

The diplomat noted that currently there are definite difficulties in cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy sphere.

"Our countries are remote and do not have a common communication network. Yet in the future the Azerbaijani oil will be transported by the Odessa-Brody-Gdansk to the Baltic Sea", said the ambassador.

Salo said Finland supports Azerbaijan and other Caspian States in the transportation of energy reserves of the Caspian Sea to the EU states.

"Most entrepreneurs of Finland intend to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the sphere of oil, but the absence of a direct air flight makes it difficult", concluded the diplomat.
